About Open Sans

Open Sans is a humanist sans designed by Steve Matteson and commissioned by Google. Its open letter shapes, neutral tone and wide language support made it one of the most-used fonts on the web. It is a dependable, friendly choice when readability matters more than personality.

Best used for

Long-form body text
Blogs, news and documentation
Government, education and non-profit sites
Multilingual content

What to pair it with

Open Sans is very neutral, so a characterful serif such as Merriweather, Lora or Playfair Display gives headings more voice without hurting readability.
